Dean's Message

It is my great privilege and pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Sonargaon University, a faculty committed to excellence in education, research, innovation, and the development of responsible, engaged, and socially conscious citizens.

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities comprises three vibrant departments: Law, Bangla, and Journalism & Media Studies, each making a distinctive contribution to the intellectual, professional, and social development of our students. Together, these departments foster a dynamic academic environment where knowledge, critical thinking, creativity, and practical experience converge to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly changing world.

The Department of Law is dedicated to developing students’ legal knowledge, professional competence, ethical values, and advocacy skills. Through a strong emphasis on justice, constitutional values, professional ethics, and good governance, the department seeks to prepare future legal professionals who will uphold the rule of law and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of society.

The Department of Bangla plays a vital role in preserving, enriching, and advancing our linguistic and cultural heritage. Through the study of language, literature, culture, and creative expression, the department promotes intellectual inquiry while fostering a deeper appreciation of the richness and diversity of Bangla and its enduring contribution to our national identity.

The Department of Journalism & Media Studies prepares students to meet the demands of an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving media landscape. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills, the department develops critical thinkers, ethical communicators, and responsible media professionals who are equipped to contribute to informed public discourse and bring about positive social change.

Collectively, these three departments embody the true spirit of a liberal arts education, an education that encourages curiosity, critical inquiry, creativity, ethical judgment, and a deep sense of social responsibility. At the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom.
